Men in Black: International a Spoiler Free Review

What can I say about this movie other than…Meh?

That pretty much sums the movie up for me. Everything about the movie felt pretty generic. It really adds nothing to the franchise. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are not nearly as charming or funny as they were in Thor: Ragnarok.

There are new aliens and old aliens and all the tropes we expect from a Men in Black movie, and the fate of the world is at stake (probably? Agent K said that was always the case) and… yeah. I mean, if you are a super Men in Black fan, maybe this movie is awesome, but otherwise, it isn’t particularly fun or action-packed.

Jack’s Bad Movies: Predator 2 (1990)

IMDB’s Description

Amidst a territorial gang war in 1997, a sophisticated alien hunter stalks the citizens of Los Angeles and the only man between him and his prey is veteran L.A.P.D. officer, Lieutenant Mike Harrigan.

This movie opens with Mike R. Harrigan (Danny Glover) involved in a major shootout with the gangs of LA. From the movie’s perspective, this is set in the future, specifically 1997. Not sure why that is relevant to anything though. A predator is watching the battle, something we only know because we saw the first movie (this movie basically requires you to have seen Predator (1987)).

FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention (Spring 2019)

Once again, that which cannot be shortened to be called a comic-con has come and gone in Salt Lake City. The Spring show was billed as being smaller, and it was. Fewer vendors, panels, and crowds. Occasionally FanX has done smaller Spring shows, kind of to give everyone a breather, and then they bounce back with a huge show in the fall. Interesting tidbits from the show:

Zachary Levi Spotlight Panel

It turns out that Zachary Levi is a pretty funny guy, and his panel was full of laughs and fun throughout.
